When shooting film (now I shoot digital exclusively, almost ALL my photographs were made on reversal (slide) film. I love high-quality, sloooow films. My favorites were Fuji Velvia (ISO 50) and  Fuji Provia 100F (ISO 100).  I've done some experimenting with Provia 100F pushing it to ISO 160 or 320 and have been VERY pleasantly surprised by the results.

I like the "punchy" colors and contrast of Fuji Velvia. It's great for landscapes, sunrises/sunsets, and where there isn't a lot of contrast. For more subtle colors and reduced contrast I use Fuji Provia 100F.  I tried Kodak Ektachrome 100s and 100sw, and wasn't too fond of them.  Both Fuji Velvia and Provia 100F are extremely fine grained and VERY sharp.

A word of warning, however... don't use Velvia for "people" pictures.  The extra contrast will have skintones looking sunburned!

Almost all of my photographs are bracketed by either a half or three-quarter stop and are taken with the use of a solid tripod.
