
| This image was taken just after dawn at the sand dunes in the middle of Death Valley (near Stovepipe Wells). The early morning light accentuates the patterns in the sand and gives nice warm colors to the brush that lives there. It's interesting to note that a large plant like this can thrive in a place like Death Valley. The reason is that it's roots can grow 50 to 60 feet into the earth in search of water! |
